Geriatric abuse

Sounds far fetched I know. But, just now I witnessed a daughter being abusive to her elderly mother.  I'm the nurse and I just stood there.  Didnt know what to do.   Dumbfounded.  It's like getting in between a stranger chastizing their child, you just dont stick your nose in other peoples business.  How do I fix this. Wanted to look at her and say, "wtf are you doing? She cant help it." Was hoping the mom would,smack the shit out of her.  A million things go through my mind.  Is this the way she treated them growing up? No wonder this woman is an old maid. No one would tolerate her.

Middle School

Middle school sucks. I knew this before she started.  I tried to warn my daughter that sixth grade was going to be hell.  The girls are mean, the peer pressure is worse, the boys get cuter.  Yesterday she comes home and says, "mom, what's a whore?" So, I am inclined to ask, why? Apparently a girl who she had been friends with, called her a whore at school.  For no reason, just to be mean.  So, I asked, "what did you say?"  "nothing" she says.  Now this is where most of you might disagree.  I told her she could have come back with something, "at least my Dad isn't a twinkle toes ballerina" (this girl's dad really is a prof. ballerina) My husband tells her she should have smacked the shit out of the girl.  So, this morning on the way to school, I tell her to make sure she tells me if this girl says anything else to her and to make sure she takes up for herself.  I have no tolerance for bullies.  Had to put up with bullies myself when I was younger.  It does horrible things for your self esteem.  I hope that she can stand on her own two feet today and be the strong young woman I know she can be!
